2012 Glaucoma Professional Education Programme
Glaucoma NZ invites optometrists, nurses, orthoptists, ophthalmic technicians and other eye health professionals to enrol in the GNZ Professional Education Programme for 2012.
This year sees the commencement of a new online web-based course structure:
- The programme consists of 7 cases – each with a case history, questions and answers for self-directed learning, followed by an associated web-based examination.
- All cases have been produced by qualified glaucoma specialists.
- The examination associated with each case is made up of 20 questions – 10 multiple choice and 10 true/false.
- The professional education programme is approved by the NZ Optometrists & Dispensing Opticians Board (ODOB) CPD Accreditation Committee - registered optometrists can use the programme to earn a maximum of 10.5 Clinical Diagnostic (CD) Credits.
- Participation is open to any eye health professional. CD credits are awarded only to optometrists.
- Two attempts are available to achieve the 70% pass required by the ODOB CPD Accreditation Committee.
- Each successfully passed case attracts 1.5 CD credits as approved by the ODOB CPD Accreditation Committee.
- Successfully passing all 7 cases awards the maximum of 10.5 CD credits.
- CD credits are only allocated to each case completed prior to 31 September 2012.
- The enrolment fee is $260 (incl GST) per Programme i.e. for up to 7 cases.
